Common Questions
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly from the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your personal health data will be permanently removed from our live systems within 30 days. If you run into any trouble, email us at info@bubo.healthand we'll handle it manually.
Is my health data secure?
Yes. Your data is stored on US-based servers with encryption at rest and in transit, and row-level security that ensures your records are never visible to other users. We do not sell your data, run ads, or share it with third parties for any purpose other than operating the features you use. Audio from visit recordings is transcribed and immediately discarded — never stored. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Can my doctor see my data?
No. Your health data in Bubo is private to you. Your care team cannot access it unless you choose to share something directly with them (for example, by showing them the app or exporting a record). We do not share your data with healthcare providers, insurance companies, or any third party without your explicit consent.
What if the AI chat gives me wrong information?
This is something we take seriously. AI can and does make mistakes — including in health contexts. Bubo's AI chat is designed to help you organize your thinking and prepare better questions for your care team, not to replace your doctor's judgment. If something in the AI response seems off, please trust your instincts and verify with your provider. You can also flag problematic responses by emailing us. We review flagged responses to improve the system.
How do I export my data?
Data export is available from within the app under Settings → Data & Privacy → Export My Data. If you need help with export or need a specific format for a medical or legal purpose, contact us at info@bubo.healthand we'll work with you directly.
Is Bubo a medical device?
No. Bubo is a personal health management and organization tool, not a medical device as defined by the FDA or any other regulatory body. It is not designed to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. It is designed to help you stay organized, understand your health information, and communicate more effectively with your care team. Nothing in Bubo should be used as a substitute for professional medical advice.
Why can't I connect my hospital records yet (Epic / MyChart)?
EHR Connect — direct integration with hospital record systems including Epic — is built and currently in partner testing. It is not yet available to all users. We expect to ship it in a future update. When it launches, you'll be able to automatically import your medications, lab results, and appointment history from participating health systems. We'll notify you when it's available.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store. To cancel, go to Settings (iOS) → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Bubo Health → Cancel Subscription. You'll retain access through the end of your current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partially used periods, but if something went wrong, reach out to us — we'll do our best to make it right.
